Tomorrow our family will make the trek up to Grandpa's house for our tradition of Christmas caroling in his neighborhood. In years past, my younger cousins have brought their flutes and violins and stuff, and we walk to all his friend's houses so he can show off his big, talented family. I invited Ryan, and he jokingly said he's not sure he's ready for that level in our relationship. His mom, who was sitting nearby, said, "If you can put on a suit jacket for this girl, I think you can handle that!" She was referring to his last minute purchase of a suit jacket for the Nutcracker Ballet we went to a couple weeks ago. I had never seen him in one prior to that (except for Jessica and Billy's wedding, but that doesn't count because we didn't know each other then) and he is not one to don a suit very often, so needless to say, I was surprised! So yes, Ryan, I think you can handle caroling with my crazy family.

I still have shopping to do, and I plan to hit the stores one last time tomorrow. Did some window shopping yesterday with my good friend Audrey. She's in town for the Holidays and it was great to visit with her. She's already planning what we can do when I come visit her in Austin. We found a great gift for her single younger brother. A Miss Perfect Grow-A-Girlfriend. She grows in water 5 to 7 times her current size! (hee hee!)
I'm also very excited about the upcoming visit from my friend Christi, who is coming to visit in January. Haven't seen her in a couple years, and she'll be bringing her baby daughter who I haven't met yet, so I'm looking forward to spending time with them.

Last night Ryan's mom loaded me up with a big bag of "piggy cookies" which I have already gotten into. They are the greatest thing to eat with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate! We call them piggy cookies because they are shaped like pigs. And I feel like one the way I eat them. Mmmmmm!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!
And watch out for those psycho shopping women and their giant SUV's!

As of today, I hate shopping.

I'm sitting in my warm kitchen, drinking hot cocoa and eating a peanut butter cookie while resting my aching feet. I just spent the last 4 hours driving around the metroplex and then walking around Forever 21 at Grapevine Mills. I went to look for an outfit to wear to this party and thought I could also do some browsing for Christmas gifts. If you have ever been in Forever 21, you know why I spent over an hour searching for a top to go with a black skirt. You'd think that would be an easy task, but trying to find what you want in that store is like searching for.....Santa Claus.
While I was on my mission, not one salesperson asked if they could help me out...and I had to listen to the worst examples of "Christmas" music I have ever heard. There was alot of stupid rock bands singing classic songs with lyrics like, "What's a Partridge?....doo doo doo....What's a Pear Tree?" and some rap song that said that Santa was on the corner buying crack.

I actually did walk out with a few items that I'm going to try and make an outfit out of, but it will probably look like I just grabbed whatever caught my eye after telling myself I wasn't leaving empty-handed. Which is just what happened. And I didn't even get to do any Christmas shopping. :(

I think I will just do the rest of my shopping online this year, like my friend Erin told me last night she is gonna do.

Happy Birthday to Shelly!

Last night we all went over to Aunt Kathy's for what we have affectionately dubbed as "Girl's Night", which means movies and eating snacks all night. Nobody knows the reason, but Shrimp rings seem to be the official food of a Girl's Night at Aunt Kathy's.
We watched White Christmas, because Jennifer (our cousin) had never seen it before, and 13 Going on 30, because Aunt Kathy hadn't seen that one. Her neighbor Lisa came over and did my nails, which was fun (though now I am having some difficulty typing), and I ate too many Wheat Thins. So all in all, a good evening.

Ryan left yesterday for the Men's Retreat with our church, and he won't be back till Sunday afternoon. Right about now they're probably getting ready to go fishing or play golf or something. I think tonight is the big Wild Beast Feast. He's probably going to come home with a beard and plaid flannel shirt acting all macho and wanting to show off his new bow hunting skills.

I am celebrating Shelly's Birthday today at work.....so she can have the day off.
Am I a good sister or what? (cough cough)

Only 43 days until Christmas!!

This past week has kicked my butt because I've had to open every day. On Tuesday, as I was driving to the store at 4:15 AM, jammin' out to "Hypnotize" cuz I'm old skool like that, I exited the freeway behind a yellow open top Jeep. The guy driving it was swerving a little bit and definately speeding (I may have been too), and as he changed lanes he raised his fist and pumped it in the air vigorously about four times.

I wish I could start my day with that kind of energy.
